This statement was released by the Ministry of Communications and Multimedia Commission on 3rd of August after launch "Logo & Theme Malaysia Merdeka 2013".
This year, the theme of 'My Malaysia Sovereign: native land' was agreed by the Cabinet was chosen as the theme of the 56th Independence Day. Themes that are more oriented towards the unity and patriotism and unity of this nation were selected to give a reminder to people of the importance of defending country together while creating awareness of affection and love for the country.
In line with this theme approach, the concept of this year's celebration will be more focused on the elements of unity, patriotism, sovereignty and national security. Violations in Lahad Datu and Semporna be best lessons in improving core in the military.
